21 Sep 2011 - Materialise Dental and Owandy establish partnership
Materialise Dental, which develops 3D technology solutions for implant practices, oral maxillofacial surgeons and orthodontists announced today that it has established a partnership with Owandy to pre-install SimPlant® Pro on their cone-beam 3D scanning equipment.
Materialise Dental focuses on 3D Digital Dentistry, offering a range of solutions for computer guided dentistry. Its SimPlant® software is compatible with all implant brands and CT and cone-beam 3D scanners, thus providing clinicians the opportunity to stay with their own implant brands and scanning equipment. Owandy from its side provides a full range of digital dental imaging products and imaging and management software to optimize and facilitate the daily business of dental practitioners.
The newly established partnership between Materialise Dental and Owandy offers customers of the two latter companies the possibility to have SimPlant® Pro pre-installed on the cone-beam workstations upon purchase of an I-Max Touch 3D cone-beam scanner. Owandy customers also receive professional training by Materialise Dental engineers to get started with their new software immediately.
Kris Wouters, COO at Materialise Dental: “Cone-beam 3D technology is becoming increasingly important in today’s world. The goal of our collaboration with Owandy is to show customers how any cone-beam scanner can be used in conjunction with our computer guided dentistry solutions. It’s an all-in treatment solution, leading to increased case success.”
Olivier Maurier, General Manager at Owandy: “Materialise Dental has a strong background in 3D implant treatment planning, 3D orthodontic simulations and 3D orthognathic surgery simulation, providing added value through its wide support and training network. Our collaboration with Materialise Dental is valuable in that it gives us the possibility to offer customers a ready-to-use, top-notch and integrated imaging, diagnosis and planning solution for any patient case. We are convinced that the alliance between the high performance of the I-Max Touch 3D (with its totally adapted volume to the dental use - 9 cm diameter x 8 cm high) with the most renowned 3D implant planning software, will give full satisfaction to our customers and our users.”
The I-Max Touch 3D panoramic unit is Owandy’s most recent addition to its range of digital imaging solutions. It acquires 3D exams and complete panoramic exams in the wink of an eye. The cephalometric option further extends the capabilities of the I-Max Touch 3D through the acquisition of radiographies of the skull and the hand. The panoramic unit gives clinicians all necessary tools to communicate their treatment plans to their patients in a clear manner and to achieve successful results for any case.
