RapidFit+ integrates functionality into fixtures for small parts
Belgian interior automotive parts maker Recticel approached Materialise to build a fixture for small parts. This simple request proved to be a big challenge, and an even greater opportunity. Familiar with making fixtures for larger parts such as car bumpers, this new project called on RapidFit+ to exercise outside-the-box creativity to demonstrate it could handle small parts, while integrating functionality.
Volvo front bumper measurement fixture modification
Plastal Ghent was in a difficult position when a Volvo front bumper measurement fixture that they had manufactured by another fixture supplier was not representative of the on-car assembly scenario. Plastal Ghent made a wise choice by contacting the RapidFit+ team at Materialise to rectify the situation, who were able to modify the existing fixture to provide an exact simulation of the on-car positioning of the front bumper in only 2 weeks!

Materialise ensures a perfect finish for the Audi A1
Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the Audi A1 is a beauty to behold and as Justin Timberlake proves in “The Next Big Thing” film shorts, is also incredible to drive. Awarded “Car of the Year 2011” by the British What Car? Magazine, this supermini-class car has been perfected down to the very last detail. And, when it came time to perfect the painting of the bicolor version of this car, Audi turned to Materialise.
