Mechanical Growth Modulation for Scoliosis Correction
In this study, Dr. Diana Glaser and Dr. Peter Newton propose a new idea for scoliosis treatment. Instead of using the standard solution, namely a surgery that sacrifices motion and further spinal growth, they want to use a mechanical tether. The present study combines clinical and engineering knowhow and clarifies that the third dimension is critical to understand these deformities and to provide guidance for appropriate treatment.
